If it was a slam dunk, mechanical fans would be stacking up like oem underdrive pulleys all over the place. Since the TT engine gets so hot due to how its packed into the engine bay with little wiggle room, you've got to have the most air flow possible under there. Electric fans just can't handle all driving scenarios ( hills, deserts, texas heat, ac at idle, & how about altitude (denver) ?
